Fall Season recap
A wonderful crop this season. The squash , zucchini, cucs, chard, okra, green beans…..all super yummy! We welcomed back Patti Pans and Scallopinies to the field. We hadn’t grown them in so long. They proved to be something we will bring back in Spring Harvest. All our Greens took a slow start this fall with all the heat we had, but finished strong.
Animals:
The Baby mini potbelly piggies were such a treat. A true unexpected surprise to our fall season. The two little boys are currently looking for forever families. They have moved out from mom and are doing great! Rosie Moo Moo and all the goats had a great time this year too. I think Rosie must of given a zillion kisses…She truely loves everyone.
Maze and Activities:
The Maze was a wonderful stand this year and Momma Kessel did a wonderful job coaching everyone in and out. Farmer Ted was as creative as always in the hay play area. He always amazes us. We had some new games out this year to play with out on the farm. They were a well enjoyed addition. I am sad to say I didn’t get a chance to get my face painted this year, but did see lots of cool faces come through the farm. Our face painter did awesome. Story teller Jerry Cowling was so much fun. All the new farm stories were wonderful. And how awesome that he made a collection on CD. Sometimes the simplest things are the most fulfilling. I have to say, its hard to believe that after all these years, I still love a good hayride through the field. It just adds to all the harvest fun. All of our family and friends that came out to help went above and beyond. They did a great job! Thank You Everyone!
Let’s Talk Food:
If you had the chance to eat while you were out with us you know food this year was awesome. My favorite lunch was “The Farmer’s Panni”. Amy Wilson with the Sunflower Cafe did a awesome job! My favorite beverage this Fall was the “Fresh Pressed Apple Cider”. Farmer Ted’s Favorite snack still proves to be the fresh”Hayman Kettle Corn”. On Sundays we all enjoyed the treat of having Strongtower winery join us. They were the perfect treat to end our weekends with.
Well I think that hits on just about everything. As most of you noticed we are always adding and expanding with new crops and fun things to make us who we are out on the farm. We think of you as our extended families and a true part or our Fall memories and traditions. Thanks for all support you give to our farm. We are blessed to end each season looking forward to our next harvest. Even though farming is never easy we truly love what we do and those whom we are surrounded by.
